Breaking: Rivers Task Force forces pilots who flew into PH from Lagos into quarantine

By Brave Dickson

Governor Nyesom Wike through the Rivers State Taskforce on COVID-19 has quarantined about three plane pilots and five passengers who flew into Port Harcourt, the state capital from Lagos.

Our correspondent who met the scene at about 8pm on Tuesday said the pilots and passengers were taken to the state owned hotel known as Delta Hotels along Harley Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

It was not immediately clear if the pilots were those of Cavernton Helicopters who were earlier remanded by a Magistrate Court for violating the state’s border closure order.

Our correspondent who witnessed when the state COVID-19 taskforce was instructing the pilots and passengers on how to strictly adhere to the quarantine rules said the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Zaccheus Agango was also sighted at the hotel premises.

Efforts to get details of the incident by our correspondent were not successful as the officials of the state COVID-19 taskforce politely refused to grant interview to our correspondent.

As at the time of filing this report, our correspondent said the hotel premises was crowded with heavily armed security personnel, Hilux vehicles belonging to the state COVID-19 taskforce and officials as well as the pilots in their white top and black trouser uniforms.

While the passengers were putting on dark-like top and trousers.
