Chima Ikwunado: Ikoku spare parts dealers observe sit-at-home over release of autopsy report

Lorine Emenike

The Chairman of Ikokwu spare parts market, Mr.Anthony Iwu, has said the marketers will observe a sit at home today, the 10th of March, to press further the demand for the release of the autopsy result conducted on late Chima Ikwunado, an auto mechanic who was tortured to death by men of the Eagle crack unit of the Mile one police station.

Autopsy result conducted on the remains of the murdered mechanic has been in the custody of the Rivers State Police commissioner, Mr Mustapha Dandaura after it was submitted by the pathologists in February.

Mr. Iwu lamented that the police are yet to release the autopsy result and remains of late Chima for burial despite the order given by a federal high court sitting in Port Harcourt for the release of the result to the family before the next adjourned date of hearing on the matter.

The chairman appealed to the state government and relevant authorities to come to their aid and prevail on the Nigerian police to do the needful by parading the officers that tortured Chima to death and the four others who sustained grievous injuries.

Mr. Iwu said the union will not relent until justice is done in the matter.
