Uche Secondus Vs Lai Mohammed: Court adjourns case to November 28th

By Ugochukwu Iwuchukwu

The hearing for the case filed by the National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed has suffered a setback due to the absence of the Presiding Judge and Chief Judge of Rivers State Justice Iyayi Laminkara.

Uche Secondus had slammed a one point five billion naira defamation lawsuit against Lai Mohammed for publishing his name among names of looters of national treasury earlier this year.

In the looters list, the Minister of Information and Culture LAI MOHAMMED alleged that the PDP National Chairman received N200million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki.

But Uche Secondus, had through his lawyer, Emeka Etiaba, SAN, denied collecting any money from the former NSA.

Justice Iyayi Laminkara had on October 8, ruled that Rivers State High Court has jurisdiction to hear the case because the publication was published on national dailies.

The court, however, adjourned the case to November 28 for hearing.
