A young Port Harcourt man, Wene Promise, has begun an attempt to set a record with Guinness World Records by trekking from Port Harcourt to Lagos.
The trek is expected to begin from the campus of the University of Port Harcourt. According to information shared about the attempt, the journey will cover hundreds of kilometres and may take about seven days to complete if the pace is maintained.
The challenge has received approval from Guinness World Records, which allows participants to attempt different endurance records once they follow the organisation’s guidelines. During the journey, the trekker is expected to document the process as part of the requirements for the record attempt.
The road distance between Port Harcourt and Lagos stretches across several states in southern Nigeria. Completing the trek will require covering long distances daily, until the destination is reached.
In recent years, many Nigerians have attempted different challenges under Guinness World Records. These attempts have included cooking marathons, dance sessions, make-up marathons, comedy marathons, play marathons, and other endurance activities.
The Port Harcourt to Lagos trek is one of the latest attempts attracting attention online as people continue to follow updates on the progress of the journey.
