The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 1, Oro-Igwe, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has successfully conducted its ward congress for the election of five ad-hoc delegates,
The exercise, which was held on Wednesday at the Eliozu Town Hall, proceeded peacefully and in an orderly manner, with heavy security presence ensuring no disruptions. Party faithful, stakeholders, and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including Electoral Officers from Obio/Akpor LGA, monitored the process in line with electoral guidelines.
Speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule declared that the people of Ward 1 remain solidly behind President Tinubu and the progressive agenda of the APC.
He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation and unwavering party unity as key drivers for electoral victories ahead.

The Ward Chairman of the APC commended the transparent and well-organised nature of the congress, praising the National Working Committee (NWC) for its steadfast leadership in consolidating the party’s structures across Rivers State.
Rivers State APC Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, who was present, lauded members for their peaceful conduct and commitment throughout the proceedings.
At the conclusion of the voting, the following emerged as duly elected ad-hoc delegates: Chief Sydney Nyeche, Goodluck Amadi, Alex Amaewhule, Okechukwu Ejekwu, and Echendu Worlu.
The congress forms part of preparations for the party’s upcoming state congress and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the APC’s foothold in the state, particularly in key areas like Obio/Akpor.
