The Federal Ministry of Education has rolled out the ‘Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes Initiative’, a nationwide digital learning programme designed to expand equitable access to quality education for Nigerian schoolchildren.
In a statement signed by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, the ministry described the programme as a groundbreaking initiative that aligns with the “Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.”
The initiative was created to tackle persistent issues in the education sector, notably the shortages of qualified teachers and disruptions to learning.
By streaming live, interactive lessons delivered by certified master teachers using Cisco Webex, the ministry asserts that Inspire Live(s) “democratises access to quality education and ensures that no child is left behind regardless of location or circumstance.”
Education Minister Tunji Alausa confirmed that full implementation has begun, noting that the rollout will eventually expand to cover all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3.
The Inspire platform is currently hosting online classes for Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) students. Classes are held from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
For JSS students, the subjects offered include Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, and Business Studies.

The ministry stated that the programme is open to all public and private schools across the country.
To ensure nationwide participation, state Commissioners for Education have been directed to nominate a State Focal Officer to coordinate Inspire Live(s) activities, circulate the programme details to all school principals, and ensure that designated schools are equipped with basic ICT facilities and internet connectivity.
The statement also stressed that registration for participation must be carried out strictly by school principals through the Inspire support channels.
