As Nigeria’s Super Eagles prepare to begin their playoff campaign for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, several key players shortlisted in Eric Chelle’s squad have arrived in camp.
The team is currently camping in Morocco ahead of Thursday’s playoff clash against Gabon, with ten players already present as of Monday.
Those in camp include Fulham duo Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun of Russian side Pari Nizhny Novgorod, Wilfred Ndidi of Besiktas, Moses Simon of FC Paris, captain William Troost-Ekong, rising defender Benjamin Fredericks, and Chidozie Awaziem of FC Nantes.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Gabon on Thursday, 13 November 2025, in the semi-final of the African play-offs.
The winner will progress to the final round, where they will meet either Cameroon or DR Congo for Africa’s sole ticket to the intercontinental playoff slated for March 2026.
The Port City News (TCPN) learnt that striker Victor Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, is on his way to join the team in camp.
In a viral video on Monday, Osimhen was seen rushing through the airport to catch a flight to Morocco. The 26-year-old appeared focused and in high spirits despite Galatasaray’s surprise 2–1 defeat to Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Osimhen, who scored a hat-trick against the Benin Republic to send Nigeria to the playoffs, featured for the full 90 minutes in his club’s last match, easing concerns about any potential injury. He is now set to join his international teammates as preparations intensify for the crucial qualifying games.
