Niger Delta Youth Leaders Denounce Allegations Against Ogbuku

A coalition of youth leaders under the banner of Concerned Niger Delta Youth Leaders has denounced what it described as baseless and malicious allegations against the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku.

In a communiqué issued in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, recently, the group reaffirmed its confidence in Ogbuku’s leadership and praised his commitment to the region’s development.

The statement was jointly signed by 32 youth leaders, including Josaiah Voke (a.k.a Ocean), Zoroaster Efe (a.k.a Zoro), Martin Ovweghre (Don Tilo), Ken Akpos (Akpos Marine), Dairus Ovire, Aburu Newton (Stone), Imeabe Saviour Oscar, Ayibatari Edward (Tari), and Okadigbo Emmanuel.

The youth leaders said Ogbuku’s leadership had repositioned the NDDC, aligning its projects with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. They cited the “Light Up Niger Delta Initiative” as a flagship project that has improved security, boosted local economies, and enhanced community life across the region.

“We stand firmly in solidarity with Dr Ogbuku and commend his visionary leadership,” the communiqué read.

“The NDDC, under his watch, has brought hope and tangible development to our communities. We can confidently say that the region has not witnessed such progress in recent years.”

They further alleged that the accusations were politically motivated and aimed at discrediting Ogbuku’s achievements. The coalition called on detractors to desist from actions capable of derailing ongoing development efforts in the Niger Delta.
