The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has joined the global community to observe the 2025 Customer Service Week, hosting a special event at the Force Headquarters in Abuja that featured the inauguration of a committee to review its Service Charter.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, in a statement on Thursday, said the ceremony saw the formal establishment of a new SERVICOM Committee, which has been tasked with reviewing the Police Service Charter to enhance service delivery and public engagement within the Force.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, was represented at the event by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of Research and Planning, DIG Basil Idegwu.
In an address delivered on his behalf, the IGP called on police officers to sustain the momentum of improvement, referencing the NPF’s 2024 award as the “Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal.”
He charged personnel to continually uphold the core values of “responsiveness, transparency, and accountability” in their policing duties to consolidate this achievement.
The inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee was jointly performed by DIG Basil Idegwu and Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations for SERVICOM, who represented the Acting National Coordinator, Gbenga Anthony Oshin.
