Reno Omokri’s Ex-Wife Accuses Him of Neglecting Special Needs Son

Reno Omokri

Tuokpe Onuwaje, the ex-wife of Nigerian political commentator and former presidential aide Reno Omokri, has publicly accused him of neglecting their son with special needs for over a year.

The accusation came after Omokri shared a Facebook post celebrating a gym session with his daughter. In response, Onuwaje quoted the post with a heartfelt plea, urging him to prioritise meaningful father-son time with their son, whom she claims he hasn’t seen since June 2024.

“Reno Omokri, stop showing up just for photo ops, show up for real life,” she wrote. “Our son with special needs is waiting for quality time with his dad, not just the fleeting visits you do with his siblings.”

She criticised Omokri for allegedly staging moments for social media validation while failing to be present in the everyday life of their son, who requires extra care and attention.

“Prioritise meaningful moments over social media validation. Be present, be involved, and be a constant in your children’s lives. Real parenting happens in the everyday moments, not just in staged photos. Put down the camera!”

The post has sparked widespread conversation online, with many weighing in on the responsibilities of co-parenting, especially when raising a child with special needs. As of now, Reno Omokri has not publicly responded to the claims.
