1. Lere Paimo (Eda Onile Ola) Born: November 19, 1939, age: 85

Lere Paimo is arguably the oldest living actor in Nollywood today. A pioneer of Yoruba theatre and film, he began his acting career in the 1960s. Best known for his legendary role in Eda and other traditional dramas, Paimo has received numerous national and cultural honours. 2. Olu Jacobs Born: July 11, 1942, age: 83

Olu Jacobs is a respected international and Nollywood actor with a rich career that spans stage, television, and film. Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London, he has brought gravitas to countless African movies. Although he has slowed down in recent years due to age-related health issues, Jacobs remains a towering figure in Nollywood and a symbol of professionalism and class.

3. Pete Edochie, Born: March 7, 1947, age: 78

5. Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Born: May 9, 1953, age: 72

Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, has played a pivotal role in Yoruba cinema. Starting with the iconic Ojo Ladipo Theatre Group, he became a producer and actor known for family-centred and culturally rich stories. He is still active in film production and frequently appears in movies alongside his son, Femi Adebayo, and other actors from the next generation.

6. Jide Kosoko, Born: January 12, 1954, age: 71

Jide Kosoko is another living Nollywood legend with a career that began in childhood. A trained actor and seasoned performer, Kosoko is a regular face in both Yoruba and English-language films. He remains active in the industry, taking on both comic and serious roles, and mentoring upcoming stars.

7. Nkem Owoh, Born: 7th February, 1955, age: 70

Popularly known as Osuofia, Nkem Owoh is one of Nollywood’s most beloved comic actors. His contributions since the 1990s make him a veteran, filling the lips of people with laughter. He still stands active in the Nollywood industry, taking on elderly roles.
