AI Mode gets a bunch of new features on Google Search

‎According to the recent tech update, it is claimed that Google has rolled out another enhancement to AI Mode in Search today. Now, users on desktop browsers can pose detailed inquiries about images, a feature that was previously exclusive to the Google app. Soon, you’ll also have the ability to upload PDFs into AI Mode and receive comprehensive answers regarding them.

‎Tuesday’s report has it that Google states that AI Mode is intended to “analyze the contents of your file and cross-reference it with relevant information from the web to deliver a helpful AI response, along with significant links for further exploration.” More file formats will be supported “in the months ahead.”

‎Moreover, it will be tremendous to point out that Next on the agenda is Canvas. This feature assists you in creating plans and organizing information across multiple sessions through a dynamic side panel that updates in real-time as you work. AI Mode will gather information in the Canvas side panel, enabling you to ask follow-up questions to obtain the exact results you require.

‎However, the report has it that an upload feature is on the way, allowing you to provide context from files. Canvas is anticipated to launch “in the coming weeks” for US users participating in the AI Mode Labs experiment.

‎Search Live is introducing video input, fully integrated with Google Lens. To utilize it, open Lens in the Google app, tap the Live icon, and pose your questions while directing your camera at an object.

‎It will also be pertinent to note that, hence, you can now engage in a seamless conversation with Search in AI Mode, enhanced by the visual context from your live camera feed. This feature is being rolled out this week on mobile in the US for users involved in the AI Mode Labs experiment.

‎In Chrome, by using Lens and AI Mode, you can inquire and learn about what is displayed on your desktop screen—whether it’s a website, a PDF, or any other content you’re viewing in the browser. Soon, when you click the Chrome address bar, a new option will appear in the dropdown menu allowing you to “Ask Google about this page.”

‎Once you pose a question, you’ll receive an AI Overview that includes a summary of key information in the side panel.
