In a bid to increase awareness on the economic potential of exporting raw materials from Nigeria to other Nations of the World, Rivers State University hosted a one-day student export development program.
Addressing the students from different faculties, the Executive Secretary of the Institute of Export Operations and Management, Dr. Ofon Udofia, said that to combat unemployment, Nigerian Students should be trained and provided with the opportunity to engage in non-commercial export to boost their earning power.
Also speaking, Executive Director Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute, Professor Lateef Sanni, represented by the Port Harcourt Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Mandu Inana, said that young Nigerians need to be acquainted with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the global agriculture value chain.

She noted that training them on the usage of technologies and business strategies that would enable them to establish viable agro business ventures that can also be exported.
Students who partook in the program appreciated the organisers and the school management for the timing of the program, which they noted has expanded their aspirations.
