Port Harcourt Refinery Set for Maintenance Shutdown – NNPC

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) said the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will undergo a temporary shutdown starting from Saturday, as part of a scheduled maintenance and sustainability review.

In a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the company emphasized that the maintenance is a critical part of efforts to ensure the refinery operates efficiently and sustainably.

“We are working closely with all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to ensure the maintenance and assessment activities are carried out efficiently and transparently,” Soneye stated.

Industry observers, including energy analyst Dipo Oladehinde, have noted the importance of such maintenance programs in safeguarding the operational integrity of national energy assets.

With his background in macroeconomic trends and energy sector dynamics, Oladehinde highlights that routine assessments like these are essential for reducing downtime and improving output in the long run.
