The Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed the arrest of the alleged killer of Reverend Sister Miss Maureen Wecheonwu.
The suspect, Kelvin Okoro, is said to have perpetrated the heinous crime on March 26 after luring the victim to a secluded area in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area (LGA).
Reports indicate that he carried out the act due to his inability to clear up his financial debt.

Following the attack, Okoro, a native of Oduoha Ogbakiri Community in Emohua LGA allegedly fled with the late Wecheonwu’s money and personal belongings.

Details reveal that the suspect was apprehended on Thursday when Kingsley Wali, Commander of the local vigilante group known as the ONELGA Security and Planning Advisory Committee (OSPAC) in Aluu, led a team to his hideout.

While confirming the arrest, Iringe-Koko stated that the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt, for discreet investigation.
She said, “Yes, I can confirm the arrest of the suspect.”
