Young Girl Seeks Justice Over Molestation in Port Harcourt, Receives Help

Assault

Miss Peace Andrewson, who was allegedly molested and assaulted by an unidentified man in Alesa, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been rescued following public outcry.

On Wednesday, Andrewson shared a distressing video on her Facebook page, pleading for help from well-meaning Nigerians after being brutally attacked. In the video, she was seen bleeding from her nose and attempting to wash off the blood as she narrated her ordeal while her clothes were visibly torn.

She revealed that her father, who is physically disabled, was unable to defend her when the attacker struck.

“Look at my head,” she said as blood dripped from her head and nose. “His brother was there when he started using a plank to inflict pain on my father. He knew my father couldn’t retaliate because he had lost the use of one of his hands. No problem,” she declared in distress.

In another video, Andrewson described her helplessness and continued to appeal for support, revealing that despite taking legal action, the suspect had managed to evade arrest due to family interference.

“I have no one to come to my aid. For days now, I can’t even breathe properly. Look at my eyes, look at my nose. I have a fracture in my nose. I need help because I am tired of the molestation and torment. I can’t sleep peacefully at night,” she lamented.

She further alleged that she had received multiple death threats from the suspect. Even when the police make attempts to apprehend him, she claimed that he boasted about his ability to secure his release, declaring himself “above the law.”

The viral video sparked widespread reactions on Facebook, with users calling for the immediate arrest of the alleged molester.

Following public pressure and the intervention of the Leader of the Eleme Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gberewa Sanwi, the suspect was finally arrested.

“I sincerely appreciate the Leader of the Council, Rt. Hon. Gberewa Benjamin Sanwi, the Chief of Staff to the Council, Hon. Noble Nwolu, and Hon. Obele Humphrey Dada, the Councilor representing Alesa, for their prompt and decisive action regarding the brutalization of Miss Peace Andrewson.
