The Nigerian Women Football League Super Six tournament is over as Edo Queens are crowned champions for the first time in their history.
Rivers angels were on the course of lifting the title but drew heartland queens at the Nembe city Stadium, Bayelsa. This happened in their match day 5 fixture of the Nigerian women Football League’s super six play offs.
The goals came in the 73rd minute through Olamide Adugbe via a Blessing Okpe cross and the Equalizer in the 90th minute from Emmanuella for Heartland queens.
This draw ensured that South South rivals Edo queens were crowned champions of the Nigerian women Football League’s super six tournament for the first time in their history.

Rivers Angels with one point, The jewel of Rivers were hoping that the Edo queens would drop points, which they did by being held to a draw by Bayelsa Queens but Rivers Angels did not Capitalize on this draw, as they were also held to a draw by Heartland queens.
The goals in the Edo queens vs Bayelsa queens was scored by Emem Essien in the 29th minute and the equalizer through a 49th minute free kick from Zainab Olapade. And this feat crowned Edo queens champions.
Edo queens lifted the Nigerian women Football League’s super six trophy with a lot of Zest as they printed “NWFL CHAMPIONS” on their white sports shirts.

Heartland Queens 1-1 Rivers Angels Fc
Bayelsa Queens FC 1-1 Edo Queens FC
Confluence Queens 0-1 Nasarawa Amazons.
Edo Queens went home with biggest Cash prize of ten (10) Million Naira, while runners-up Rivers Angels went home with five (5) Million Naira and third placed Bayelsa Queens with three (3) million Naira.
