Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers state, Arc. Tonye Cole has reacted to the death of his Campaign Director in Ahoada West local government area, Chisom Lennard.
Lennard was murdered after he was abducted by unknown gunmen during Saturday’s election.
Cole, in a statement on Monday, said he was saddened by the development.
According to him, precious lives were taken on the altar of greed and wickedness, noting that those killed would not be forgotten.
The statement reads: “My heart is heavy as I write this, to think that our fight for a better Rivers State, a Rivers State that would benefit everyone, would lead to the loss of lives.
“Precious lives were taken on the altar of greed and wickedness. I want to use this medium to send my condolences to the families of the slain APC officials, their constituents, and the entire APC Rivers State family
“Chisom Lennard, APC campaign DG of Ahoada West, and 10 others (and counting) who were killed, you all will never be forgotten. We will not be deterred or discouraged. We will continue the fight for a better Rivers State, a Rivers State where peace reigns.”
