Gunmen shoot vigilante commander dead in Delta

A Delta State Vigilante Commander have reportedly been killed along Okpe road close to the license office in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of the state by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

It was gathered that the deceased, identified as Lucky Victor, the Zone 2 Vigilante Commander in the area was trailed by the gunmen with a numberless tinted sienna, who shot him multiple times in his own Sienna car until he died.

Expressing sadness over the incident, the spokesperson of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Delta State, Voke Ubuara said criminals in the town had found it difficult to use the waterways which were part of Asikolo’s jurisdiction in the past six years.

According to him, “Before, when criminals operate in the town, the waterway was an easy escape route, but Asikolo when he assumed office became a stumbling block to that arrangement.

“We will partner with the police to see how we can fish out his killers.”

Confirming the development, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright said an investigation was ongoing to bring the criminals to book.
