A Port Harcourt middle-aged man identified as Egbe Godfrey who was arrested by the police for attempted suicide has been assisted by the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, OPM, Apostle Gift Chinyere.

The man who claimed to have lost all his life savings to the now defunct MBA trading and Capital Investment Limited in Port Harcourt attempted suicide on December 8 but was rescued by his neighbours who were able to distract him from hanging himself on a telecommunication’s mast at Garrison axis of Port Harcourt.

After being rescued, Mr.Godfrey said life for him and his family had been miserable since MBA refused to pay him his money for over a year now.

He stated, “My money has been seized by Maxwell Odum. He ran away with my money for over one year now. Since then, I have not seen him.

“I am frustrated; my family is frustrated because I cannot take care of them. I cannot train my children and pay school fees. My landlord has thrown me outside. I don’t know where to start life.

“I don’t have a job. There is nothing I am doing. That was why this morning I decided to come here to hang myself”.

The excitement that the victim did not hang himself was, however, truncated when some policemen arrived and got him arrested.

MBA Trading and Capital Investment Limited, operated by one Maxwell Odum, collapsed due to his inability to pay investors agreed return on investment.

Thousands of the victims had staged protests three times to demand a refund and also called for his arrest.

The general overseer Of OPM, Pastor Chibuzor Chinyere after hearing of Mr. Godfrey’s attempted suicide, decided to help him and his family with the following;

  1. One year rent For Mr. Egbe And His Family.

  2. Small token for the wife to start business.

  3. Sponsor his 3 children in school for free.

  4. Support Mr. Egbe To Maintain Mental Health.
