Trial in beheading of 9-year-old boy stalled in Port Harcourt

The murder trial of the suspects that beheaded a nine-year-old boy in Agbandele Community of Emuoha local government area in Rivers state has stalled before a magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt.

The case suffered setback due to the absent of the Chief Magistrate in court because of the court free day to Mark the NBA Law week.

The two suspects, Kenneth Sylvanus and Chijioke Ogbonna are standing trial on a three count-charge bothering on conspiracy, murder and beheading of one Destiny Peter at Agbandele community in Emuoha local government area

Our correspondent reports that at the last adjourned date, the first accused KENNETH SYLVANUS informed the court that he was guilty of the murder charge alongside one Chibuzor Amadi whom he claimed was a collaborator in the murder case, but was granted bail at the police station before their arraignment.

The Presiding Chief Magistrate F.I Iyabo on the said date directed the prosecutor to liaise with relevant authorities and produce the 3rd suspects Chibuzor Amadi on the next adjourned date which was on Monday.

Our correspondent further reports that the case has been adjourned to 13 December, 2021.
