Okrika LGA: three children mysteriously missing in one week

Brave Dickson

The mysterious disappearance of three children in one week is now a source of concern to residents of Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

When contacted, the 2019 state House of Assembly candidate on the platform of the Social Democratic party, Tamunokubie Idasefiema told our correspondent that one of the missing children hails from his Ibaka Community in Okrika LGA.

The politician who could not ascertain the names of the missing children as of the time of filing this report said the missing boy of 4yr old that hails from his community went to school and did not returned home.

He said, “I will get the names of the three missing children and inform you. For now, the family members of the missing children are in pains and I would only like to visit them much later when the tension on them has reduced.

“I suspect this sudden spree of missing children in Okrika LGA is connected with ritual activities.”

Confirming the recent surge on child theft, an aide to King Ateke Tom who is also the Central Community Development Committee Chairman of Okrika LGA, Benjamin Sekibo said yes some children are missing and the matter has been reported to the police.

Sekibo promised to speak more on it as soon as he gets more details from the police who had begun investigation on the incidents.

Upon very good information, our correspondent further reports that one of the missing children disappeared while the mother of the weeks old baby was taking her bath daytime
