Rivers State Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry-Banigo, has charged local government chairmen in the state to keep emulating the developmental strides of Governor Nyesom Wike.
She gave the charge on Saturday in Bakana, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, where she had gone to commission the Chief Amabibi Don Pedro Compound Memorial Hall.
The hall was built by the Degema Local Government Chairman, Michael John Williams, as one of the projects he used to mark his first hundred (100) days in office.
Commending the LGA boss for building the hall, the deputy governor said the project would positively impact the people of the area.
She expressed happiness with the achievements of the local government chairmen in the state, who she said were perfectly replicating the developmental strides of Governor Wike, urging them to sustain their performance tempo.
“I’m really, really proud of their achievements. The projects they’re executing are projects of good quality,” she said, adding that the chairmen were following a good example of their principal, Governor Nyesom Wike.
Speaking earlier, the Degema Local Government Chairman said the hall was one of his first 100-day projects.
He expressed joy that his administration’s focus on developmental projects delivery was gradually changing the face of Degema LGA.
“Today, by the grace of God, we have turned Degema Local Government Area to a construction site,” he said, assuring that more projects were underway.
The Chief Amabibi Don Pedro Compound Memorial Hall adds to the list of projects executed by the Degema LGA boss, Michael John Williams, since assuming office a few months ago.
Last month, the chairman commissioned the Ogurama Footbridge and Concrete Pavement in Ogurama Community, Degema LGA.
During the commissioning of the bridge, he promised to spread people-oriented projects in all the communities in the LGA.
“We shall do more. We shall sign our signature in all communities of the LGA,” he had said, attributing his exploits to the developmental blueprints of the Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike.
