Bayelsa Police arrest two suspected kidnappers

Bayelsa State Police command said it has arrested two suspected kidnappers at Adagbabiri of Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement released by the State’s Police Spokesperson, SP Asinim Butswat said the arrest was carried out by Operatives of Sagbama Divisional Police Station.

According to Butswat, the police worked in collaboration with community youths and vigilante members of the community, who helped in ensuring the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects, who were identified as Odulima Igbogiri of Okogbie community and Moses Joshua of Ahoada Town both in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State, were arrested while planning to kidnap someone in Adagbabiri.

It was gathered that the suspects stabbed two police officers and one community youth while resisting arrest.

The injured officers are currently responding to treatment at the Sagbama General hospital.

Meanwhile, according to the police spokesperson, the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation while investigations are ongoing.
