Some unknown assailants have attacked and killed a 400 level student of the Rivers State University (RSU).
The incident happened at about 9 am on Thursday in a canteen known as Gavida joint within the premises of Management Science where the victim went to eat.
TPCN gathered that the victim was shot point-blank in the head causing his death. A source notified that the case might have been a result of a cult clash.
It was also gathered that among the assailants is a 300 level student of the institution, who is currently in the custody of security operatives.
Meanwhile, the State’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni, while confirming the incident said a manhunt has been launched to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
The victim whose name could not be ascertained at press time has since been evacuated from the scene of the crime while the school management is yet to give a statement on the matter.
