Bayelsa trains students on safe schools reopening


As part of Government efforts to curtail the spread of coronavirus, the Safe School Reopening Committee has started a training exercise in schools across the State.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Comrade Walton Liverpool, stated that the training exercise is a physical demonstration of the preventive measures of COVID-19, to teachers and students.

Comrade Liverpool who noted that the training exercise is ongoing, and all schools in the state would be visited, stressed that the facemask is not a jaw-mask as worn by many, adding that many schools have already been visited by the committee, to display the proper use of the facemask, the infrared thermometer and hand washing methods.

He reiterated that Government has distributed facemasks, infrared thermometers, veronica buckets, liquid soaps and other hygiene-related items to government and private schools across the state and urged all to take responsibility for their hygiene, to curb the spread of the virus.
