Breaking: 3 foreign workers kidnapped in Rivers State.

Three immigrant construction workers have been kidnapped by gunmen in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The yet to be identified immigrant workers were staff of Raffoul Nigeria Limited, a construction company carrying out a project in the area.

Their country of origin was not also made available to the public.

Rivers State Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, could not be reached for comments on the development.

Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor has issued a three-day ultimatum to the chiefs and leaders of Andoni Local Government Area, to ensure the immediate release of three kidnapped foreigners.

A furious Wike in a statement said that the failure to secure the release of the three expatriates kidnapped by Andoni youths at the expiration of the ultimatum will formally lead to the withdrawal of the recognition of all Government Recognised Chiefs in the Local Government Area and cancel the Andoni aspect of the Unity Road project.

He noted that other communities across the State must take measures to protect contractors and workers executing projects for them.

He said the same sanctions will be meted out to other communities where Chiefs and leaders allow project contractors to be kidnapped by community youths.
