The Acting Director general of the Rivers state Neighborhood watch, Retired ACP Uche Chukwuma, has said that members of the neighborhood watch will be disciplined in carrying arms.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with journalists in Port Harcourt, Uche Chukuma spoke about the frosty issue concerning the neighborhood watch bearing arms.

“The issue of arms, let me be very frank to you. I am a seasoned police officer, having put in 35 years.

“We know the discipline of arms. We are going to ensure that anybody bearing arms must be disciplined within the ambits of the law, and must use the arms, only and when necessary.

“We are going to collaborate with the Nigeria Police and other agencies at ensuring that no abuse of power is tolerated anywhere”
