The Kano State Police Command said a suspected notorious armed robber, Hassan Iliya, 35-year-old, has been arrested, and the sum of N4.986 million has been recovered.
This was disclosed in a document shared on the Nigeria Police Force social media page by the security force spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Wednesday.
According to Kiyawa, a superintendent revealed that on August, 5th, 2024, at around 2 a.m., the security force received a robbery report from a resident of Yandadi Village, Kunchi LGA, Kano State.
It was gathered that the sum of N15 million was stolen from the victim, whose identity was not disclosed.
Following the incident, State Commissioner of Police (CP) Salman Garba charged the security force with conducting intelligence-led patrols to arrest the culprits and recover their operational weapons.
The 35-year-old alleged suspect, Iliya, a native of Alhazawa Village, Musawa LGA, Katsina State, was apprehended on his way to evade arrest via motorcycle.
