In a recent interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Chief Sampson Hart Akaya, a chieftain of the Simplified Movement, Oyigbo Chapter, and Prime Minister of Okoloma-Ndoki Council of Traditional Rulers, shed light on the governance style of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, emphasizing his zero tolerance for shabby jobs and sharp practices in project execution and delivery.

According to Chief Akaya, Governor Fubara’s administration is committed to quality and would never compromise on project specifications. This stance, he noted, is a testament to the Governor’s global reputation for consistency and commitment to excellence.

Chief Akaya’s clarification came against the backdrop of allegations by detractors that Governor Fubara’s administration is cutting corners to the detriment of Rivers people. He categorically denied these claims, stating that the Governor supervises the construction of all projects in the state without permitting kickbacks and sharp practices.

It bears mentioning that the traditional ruler urged politicians in Rivers State and beyond to allow peace to reign in the state, rather than trying to cause political disparities. He admonished warring factions to sheathe their swords and allow Governor Fubara to exercise his mandate, which would lead to the release of multiple democracy dividends for the people.

In a related development, Chief Akaya thanked Governor Fubara for appointing Ndoki sons and daughters into positions of authority, including Dr. Chisom Kenneth Gbali as Commissioner for Youth Development, Engr. Gogo Philip as Chairman, the Caretaker Committee of Oyigbo LGA, Hon. Allwell Okere-Ukwu as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, and Dr. (Mrs.) Nancy Nwankwo as a member of the Governing Council of Rivers State University.

Notably, Chief Akaya charged the appointees to bring out their best in their assignments, shun cutting corners, greed, and sharp practices, and work in tandem with Governor Fubara’s development mantra. He called on those who do not wish the state well to prioritize the progress of the people and abandon selfish interests.

It is worth noting that Chief Akaya’s remarks point towards the commitment of Governor Fubara’s administration to quality, transparency, and corruption-free governance. As Rivers State continues to make strides under his leadership, those close to the matter insist it is clear that the Governor’s focus on excellence and accountability will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
