The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for governorship primaries across states, with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other aspirants set to know their fate by May 18, 2026.
The schedule, contained in a two‑page document signed by Sulaimon Arugungu, APC National Organising Secretary, was obtained by Port City News on Monday.
According to the timetable, the primaries form part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The party also outlined dates for appeal hearings. Petitions from House of Assembly primaries will be heard on May 24, while appeals relating to governorship, House of Representatives, and Senate primaries are slated for May 25, 2026.
The APC noted that governorship aspirants must pay ₦10 million for the expression of interest form and ₦40 million for the nomination form.
Sales of forms will open at the party’s national secretariat on April 25 and close on May 2, with completed documents due by May 4, 2026.

The party also added that presidential aspirants will pay ₦30 million for the expression of interest form and ₦70 million for the nomination form.
APC had earlier, in December 2025, welcomed Governor Fubara into its fold following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that reshaped Rivers politics.
As preparations intensify, the APC has continued to rally support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Fubara, and its candidates nationwide, urging members to deliver strong backing in the 2027 elections.
