The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), headed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied any involvement in a meeting with African Democratic Congress (ADC) former Senate President David Mark and ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, which was supposedly held to promote political integration before the 2027 elections.
According to a statement signed by Jungudo Harunam Mohammed, the National Publicity Secretary of the Wike-led PDP, said there have been no discussions or meetings between the party and the ADC or any of its representatives.
It was stressed by the party that no such meeting had been called or authorised on its behalf.
According to the statement, individuals who attended such events acted solely as representatives of themselves and did not hold any official position within the PDP.
Members, supporters and the public were told by him that it was ‘unfair’ and that the reports amounted to rubbish and did not reflect our views.

According to the faction, preparations for this year’s primaries are already underway, and timelines will be shared with party members. It emphasised its ongoing dedication to internal mechanisms and providing credible leadership to Nigerians.
The Port City News (TCPN) gathered that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and political figures such as Kabiru Turaki, Adolphus Wabara, and Jerry Gana met with ADC.
Those present also acknowledged the common issues faced by opposition parties in Nigeria, adding that “the PDP has been facing very similar pressures in recent years”.
They stressed the need to be alert and prevent any behaviour that could potentially undermine democratic values and political freedom.
ADC leaders expressed their gratitude for the visit, stating that democracy is at risk now as these opposition parties have become less powerful.
Both parties emphasised the importance of continuing cooperation to safeguard democratic values and institutions across the nation.
