APC Elects New Leaders at National Convention

After a long wait, the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention has concluded with the appointment of re-signatories.

According to the Port City News (TCPN) Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara was one of the attendees at the convention that started yesterday at Eagle Square in Abuja, with 31 other state governors and 8,453 delegates from across the nation in attendance.

Nentawe Yilwatda was elected as the national chairman of the party, and Ajibola Basiru was appointed as its secretary.

At the Eagle Square convention, delegates formed “a new national working committee (NWC) through consensus arrangement approved by stakeholders.”.

The party held consultations with Emma Eneukwu, and later replaced him Ben Nwoye as the deputy national chairman (south).

The decision was made after consultations and consideration of zoning issues, with Nwoye being included in the ruling due to significant efforts by Enugu state governor Peter Mbah.

After his emergence, Yilwatda spoke to the party’s members, calling for greater service and pledging to maintain unity within the ruling party.

He stated that he and the executives are willing to serve, lead as president, and build the party, in collaboration with the nation.
