The Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Lucky Promise-Otuo, has expressed shock and outrage over the killing of the monarch of Agwut-Obolo, Chief Alfred Otoboalama, who was allegedly murdered by unidentified gunmen.
In a statement on Saturday night, Promise-Otuo described the incident as “gory and barbaric”, vowing that those responsible would face justice. He assured the bereaved family, the monarch’s subjects and the entire Agwut-Obolo community that his administration would pursue the case to a logical conclusion.
He stressed that no one would take the life of any resident of Andoni without consequences, adding that the council would work closely with security agencies to track down and punish the perpetrators.
The chairman also pledged to strengthen security measures across the local government to safeguard lives and property, while warning criminal elements to abandon any unlawful plans. Promise-Otuo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the community, insisting that those behind the killing would face the full weight of the law.
Meanwhile, the member representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Awaji-Inombek Dagomie Abiante, expressed deep sadness over the monarch’s death. Abiante said he was shocked by what he described as a brutal and unacceptable act.
He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible and ensure they were brought to justice.The lawmaker further urged community leaders, residents and other stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to enhance peace and security in the area.
