APC Inaugurates Fubara, Others for National Convention Planning

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has inaugurated Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other members of the party’s 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee.

APC in a statement posted on its X handle on Wednesday confirmed that the ceremony took place at its National Secretariat in Abuja, marking a significant step in preparations for the forthcoming national convention.

The 73-member committee is chaired by former Katsina State governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Bello Masari.

The panel has been mandated to oversee, streamline and harmonise all activities leading to the successful organisation and conduct of the APC’s 2026 National Convention.

According to party officials, the inauguration underscores the leadership’s commitment to ensuring a well-coordinated and transparent convention process.

The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the development as part of broader strategic preparations already underway. He explained that the committee would work closely with relevant organs of the party to guarantee a peaceful, orderly and credible convention.

Earlier reports indicated that the APC National Working Committee constituted the panel as part of its early groundwork for the 2026 gathering.

Other members of the committee include several serving governors and senior party figures drawn from across the federation, reflecting what party leaders described as an inclusive and nationally representative structure designed to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of the convention.

They’re Governors Umo Eno, Douye Diri, Hyacinth Alia, Babagana Zulum, Bassey Otu, Sheriff Oborevwori, Francis Nwifuru, Monday Okpebholo, Abiodun Oyebanji, Peter Mbah, Muhammed Yahaya, Umar Namadi, Abba Yusuf, Uba Sani, Dikko Radda, Usman Ododo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Abdullahi Sule, Mohammed Bago, Dapo Abiodun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Caleb Mutfwang, among others.
