APC Unveils Screening Committee For Rivers Ward/LGA Congress

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the members of its Screening and Appeals Committees ahead of the upcoming ward and local government area (LGA) congresses in Rivers State.

The announcement came in a statement on Monday night, signed by Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary.

The statement, posted on the party’s X page, said the committee lists were endorsed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

According to the statement, the committee responsible for the election of Local Government Area delegates across the 23 LGAs and 319 wards in Rivers State includes Prof. Kosioma Owede, Chief Anthony Onoh, Barr. Chrisantus Bolnaan Mauqida, Gabriel Agbo, Michael Makwal, Patience Chairman, and Hon. Sunday Kadiri.

Owede will serve as Chairman, while Kadiri will act as Secretary. The appeals committee, tasked with handling petitions arising from the LGA delegate elections, comprises Dr Adoyi Omale, Hon. Grace Idakwo, Ogunka Ifeanyichukwu, Adejunwon Bunmi Jonathan, and Dr Moses Alokpa.

Omale will serve as Chairman, with Alokpa as Secretary. The APC urged all appointed committee members to discharge their duties diligently, transparently, and in strict compliance with the party’s constitution and guidelines.

The party has scheduled its ward congresses for Wednesday, 18 February, while the LGA exercises are set for Friday, 20 February 2026.

Earlier, APC announced its 2026 South-South zonal congresses will be held in Rivers and Cross River States, with the zonal exercise slated for 25 March 2026.
