Fubara Appoints Five New Permanent Secretaries

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara appointed five new permanent secretaries on Tuesday. The announcement was made by Inyingi Brown, the Head of Service, in a statement on behalf of the state government.

The new appointees are Dr Wachukwu Vincent Worgu, Eke Cordelia Uwuma Ogboma, Ifeanyi Anthony, Dr Jim-Jaja Mina Gogo, and Uzor Henry. Fubara is scheduled to swear in the permanent secretaries on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

The appointments come a month after Fubara selected and swore in five special advisers: Barrister Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Barrister Emmanuel Fubara, Hon. Victor Ekaro, and Dr Darlington Oji. Among the new permanent secretaries are two former commissioners who previously served under the Fubara administration.

During the announcement, Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to decisive governance and reclaiming lost momentum in service delivery. He described the appointments as strategic moves to strengthen his team and ensure efficient administration.

He emphasised that the appointees, drawing on their wealth of experience, are well-versed in the administration’s philosophy and objectives.

Fubara urged them to regard their positions not as privileges but as calls to dedicated public service, encouraging them to replicate their past distinguished records.He expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully while warning against any lapses that could disappoint the government and the people of Rivers State.

The governor concluded by reiterating his administration’s resilience and determination to honour its social contract with citizens, promising to overcome challenges and recover any lost ground.
