APC & The Economy

When APC claims that the states now receive more allocation from the government and tout this as one of Tinubu’s great achievements, show them they are lying with this simple analysis

In 2014, a Dollar was N190 Naira; 1.45 trillion Naira in 2025 is $1 billion, 190 billion Naira in 2014 was $1 billion

So, a state that received 380 billion Naira in 2014 received more allocation than a state that received 1.45 trillion Naira in 2025

This is because $ 380 Billion in 2014 was equivalent to 380 Billion Naira, and to process the same projects, the individual in 2014 would have had more resources and accomplished much more.

It is a simple Math:

Today’s allocation values look bigger because of a devalued currency, not because of real purchasing power value. If they ask you why the dollar analysis, remind them that they are a consumption country and the dollar determines their economy.

I think APC has barely added any production capacity to Nigeria for ten years now. They did’t even add shishi to the national grid. They did’t improve the roads. They did’t improve the healthcare sector. They didn’t improve education.
