Brentford Signs Okrika Boy

The English premier League side, Brentford has signed Rivers-Nigerian born striker Kaye Furo from Club Brugge for £8.7m (€10m).

‎According to the recent report from Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports, it has been made clear that the fee, notable for a player of such limited senior exposure, signifies a continuation of the club’s aggressive investment in youth.

‎The club’s tremendous signing model, underpinned by data-led scouting and strategic succession planning, has been clearly demonstrated as top-notch. The report stated that: “ Beyond Brentford’s  having agreed on an £8.7m deal with Club Brugge, they have completed the signing of young striker Kaye Furo.”

‎And the Sky sport’s Thomas added that: “He will go straight into the first-team squad despite being only 18 years old.” Which means this is not a player earmarked for development alone, either, the club intends to integrate him immediately.

‎The sky sport stated that “He is following the trail left by Igor Thiago having moved to Brentford from Club Brugge in 2024”. The Thiago transfer has clearly emboldened the club to trust the Belgian market, particularly Brugge’s ability to house, develop and expose young forwards to first-team football.

‎Unarguably, Kaye Furo’s sensational performance to date is modest, and his profile is promising: “Furo is a Belgium U21 international who has scored once in five appearances in the Jupiler League so far this season.”

‎Appearance statistics shows that he has already made his senior debut for Club Brugge in August 2025, featuring from the bench as FCB beat Rangers 6-0 in Champions League qualifying, securing a 9-1 aggregate victory.

‎Notwithstanding, he scored his first Pro League goal in a 3-2 defeat against Sint-Truiden last month and was a second-half substitute in a Champions League game against Arsenal four days later.

‎At the moment, the report has it that the promising young star, Kaye Furo is currently eligible for both Belgium and Nigeria, the teenage forward has played for Belgium at every age group from under-15s to under-21s level.
