Bayelsa PHC Boss Brisibe Tours Facilities, Reaffirms Care Drive

The Bayelsa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare delivery as the Commissioner for Health, Prof Seiyefa Brisibe, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of major health projects currently under development across the state.

Accompanied by top officials of the Ministry, Prof Brisibe visited critical facilities including the Ikarama Cottage Hospital and the ICT Centre at the College of Nursing Sciences, Tombia-Ekpetiama.

The tour also covered other health-related infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening service delivery at different levels of care.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work observed, describing the developments as a positive signal that health sector reforms are progressing steadily.

He noted that the inspection was necessary to ensure that projects align with government standards and meet the healthcare needs of the population.

According to him, the Ministry’s reform agenda is centred on expanding access to healthcare, improving primary healthcare services and building efficient referral systems capable of responding promptly to emergencies. He added that preventive care and fairness in service delivery remain key priorities, particularly for hard-to-reach communities.

Prof Brisibe further assured residents that the state government, in partnership with stakeholders and local communities, is determined to deliver a responsive and people-focused health system. He said the ongoing investments are designed to strengthen resilience in the sector and support sustainable development while protecting lives across Bayelsa State.
