Fubara Celebrates Azuta-Mbata at 66, Hails His Legacy of Unity, Service

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, congratulated John Azuta-Mbata, President-General of Ọhanaeze Ndigbo, on his 66th birthday.

In a statement he personally signed on Saturday, Fubara praised Azuta-Mbata, a former senator who represented Rivers East, for his enduring contributions to the state.

The governor said Azuta-Mbata had continued to distinguish himself through humility, wisdom and a deep sense of responsibility.

He noted that his leadership had strengthened unity, promoted mutual respect among diverse communities and contributed meaningfully to inclusive governance and sustainable development.

“On the joyous occasion of your 66th birthday, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, I, on behalf of my family, the Government and the good people of Rivers State, heartily felicitate with you and celebrate the gift of your life,” Fubara said.

He added that the milestone went beyond a personal celebration, describing it as an opportunity to reflect on Azuta-Mbata’s selfless service, outstanding public and socio-cultural leadership, and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity and progress of Rivers State.

Fubara further stated that Azuta-Mbata had consistently demonstrated courage in leadership, ideological clarity rooted in sound principles, and an unyielding commitment to truth when it mattered most.

According to the governor, his life remained a source of inspiration, particularly in upholding integrity in public service and defending shared heritage and collective destiny.

“As you mark this new chapter of your life, may the Almighty God grant you renewed strength, divine wisdom and even greater accomplishments in all your endeavours. Once again, I wish you a very happy 66th birthday and many more fruitful years in good health and fulfilment,” he said.
