Governor Fubara Announces Minor Cabinet Reshuffle in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council, redeploying Barrister Christopher Green as the new Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.


Barrister Green, previously serving as Commissioner for Sports, assumes his new role with immediate effect. The announcement was contained in an official statement issued by Dr. Honour Sirawoo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications.


In the interim, Green will continue to oversee the activities of the Ministry of Sports until a substantive commissioner is appointed for that portfolio.


The reshuffle was approved during the final State Executive Council meeting of 2025, reflecting Governor Fubara’s ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure seamless service delivery across key sectors.


This move comes as the administration prioritizes strengthening governance structures amid the state’s focus on development projects and political stability. Governor Fubara has emphasized optimizing ministerial performance to better serve the people of Rivers State.
