Rt. Hon. Nwuche Hosts End-of-Year Thanksgiving in Rivers, Urges Gratitude to God

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the South-South Development Commission, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, on Saturday 27 December hosted a grand end-of-year thanksgiving service at his country home in Ochigba community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The event drew cheerful attendees from all walks of life, including political leaders, traditional leaders, community members and clergy, who converged to praise God for His benevolence and mercies throughout the year.

In his sermon, Venerable Michael Solomon of Anglican Diocese of Ahoada stressed the importance of cultivating a culture of gratitude in daily life.

“It is wrong to take God’s blessings for granted,” he declared, urging Christians to remain thankful to God at all times, irrespective of circumstances.

The elated host, Nwuche, expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining him through challenging periods, particularly referencing the political turbulence he faced in 2011.

Nwuche also extended special appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, describing him as a dependable ally and friend.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who graced the occasion, joined the Nwuche’s in thanking God and later thrilled those present with his wrestling themed dance.

The thanksgiving service featured spirited performances by various choirs and gospel ministers, who took turns rendering soul-lifting praises in honour of God’s faithfulness to the Nwuche family.

The event underscored themes of divine providence, community unity and appreciation, amid a festive atmosphere that highlighted the resilience and faith of the people.
