The Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Lucky Promise Otuo, has strongly condemned the recent wave of violent killings in Agwut-Obolo, Agana, and Ilotombi communities, attributing the mayhem to cult rivalry and related crimes. Describing the acts as “barbaric, senseless, and unacceptable,” Otuo assured residents that his administration prioritizes safety and security.
The Chairman extended condolences to families of victims and warned that cultism and violence won’t be tolerated in Andoni LGA. He emphasized that individuals or groups found sponsoring, harbouring, or participating in cult-related activities will face the full weight of the law. This firm stance is aimed at restoring peace and stability to the affected communities.

To achieve this, the council is collaborating with security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders. Otuo urged parents to monitor their wards and discourage them from being drawn into cultism and criminal acts. He also appealed to youths in the affected communities to embrace peace, dialogue, and lawful conduct, noting that violence only retards development and undermines collective progress.
The Chairman reassured residents that his administration remains committed to promoting peace, strengthening community security structures, and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable development. He concluded by calling on all stakeholders to unite against violence and work collectively towards restoring lasting peace and stability in Andoni Local Government Area. With this renewed commitment, residents are hopeful for a peaceful future.
