Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nigerian Content through deeper collaboration, increased indigenous participation, and long-term economic impact across the energy value chain.
The pledge was renewed at the 2025 Nigerian Content Stakeholders’ Retreat held in Finima, Bonny Island, Rivers State, where the company and regulators restated their shared vision for sustainable sector growth.

The retreat, themed “Deepening Stakeholders’ Collaboration for Sustainable Economic Development,” brought together regulators, industry leaders and advocates of Nigerian Content to celebrate progress and strengthen partnerships.
NLNG’s Deputy Managing Director, Olakunle Osobu, noted that the company’s approach goes beyond meeting statutory requirements and focuses on building a lasting legacy through investments in local talent, technology and enterprise development.
He stressed that NLNG’s Nigerian Content journey is centred on expanding opportunities and enabling growth driven by strong collaboration with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
Representing NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Director of Capacity Building, Engr. Abayomi Bamidele, praised NLNG for maintaining the retreat as a platform for open dialogue and industrial advancement.
He highlighted successful joint initiatives, including the Service Level Agreement, Technical Working Group and staff secondment which demonstrate the effectiveness of regulatory–operator cooperation. Ogbe also commended NLNG’s measurable contributions through the Train 7 project and urged the company to continue reinforcing Nigeria’s presence in the global LNG market.
The NCDMB further strengthened its reputation as a business-friendly regulator after winning the PEBEC Transparency and Efficiency Champion Award for the fourth consecutive year, alongside the Reform Champion Award. The Board reiterated its commitment to strengthening business systems, boosting local capacity under the NOGICD Act and sustaining high-performance regulatory standards.
