IGP, Delta Governor Unveil Logo, Mascot for 2026 Police Games

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, unveiled the logo, mascot, and theme for the 15th Biennial Police Games scheduled to hold in Asaba in 2026. 

The ceremony, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, marked a significant step in preparations for the sporting event.

In his remarks, Egbetokun described the unveiling as a proud moment for the Nigeria Police Force, noting that it signified a renewed spirit ahead of the Games. He emphasised that sports remain a powerful tool for building a disciplined, fit, and community-oriented police force. 

According to him, the Police Games have grown into a symbol of unity and excellence, consistently showcasing the best of the Force’s talent and character.

The IGP reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to raising standards and prioritising officers’ wellness, discipline, and mental readiness. He expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for agreeing to host the 2026 edition and commended the Delta Sports Commission and the Force Sports Planning Committee for their dedication. 

He explained that the newly unveiled mascot represents the Force’s core values of courage, unity, fitness, and excellence. The theme for Asaba 2026 is “Beyond the Badge; Excellence in Action!” with the slogan “Discipline, Dignity and Dedication!”

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, Governor Oborevwori said the event highlighted the Police Force’s commitment to unity, discipline, and national cohesion. He noted that the Games continue to serve as a platform for discovering talent and promoting camaraderie.

He assured that Delta State is prepared to host a memorable and impactful Games that will strengthen bonds across the nation.
