Rivers State ADC Chieftain Makes Stirring Appeal For Rural Development

A Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress ADC, in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Obijuru Saturday Uwa, has lauded the leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, describing him as a “God-sent torchbearer of transformation.

Speaking with newsmen in Okpontu-Ndoki Community on the new face of development, Hon Uwa praised the governor’s calm, focused, and pragmatic governance style, which he said, has steered Rivers State away from political turbulence and towards a fresh era of constructive development.

” Governor Fubara’s emergence symbolizes”a divine intervention in a season of uncertainty”, his commitment to peace, people- centered policies, and infrastructure renewal has revived hope across the state. Fubara’s trademark cool- headedness is seen as a stabilizing force”. While others trade words, he stays focused on governance” he stated.

Hon Obijuru Uwa who is also the Secretary of the party in Oyigbo Local Government Ward 5, noted that peace remains the foundation of progress, and the governor has successfully calmed Rivers’ political climate, noting that, from market women to rural dwellers, there is a shared sentiment as Fubara’s government is accessible, humane, and responsive.

The ADC stalwart while praising Governor Fubara led administration’s strides, issued a passionate appeal that it should also extend these blessings to the rural communities stressing that no part of Rivers should be left behind in the crusade.

He urged the governor to ease transportation and open local economies, increase staffing and equipping community health centres, provision of clean water, especially in riverine and island settlements.

Other needs include rehabilitation of dilapidated schools in remote areas, the establishment of vocational and technical training centres in rural districts, and the provision of value-chain support for farmers.

“The message is clear: development must reach the hinterlands, not stay concentrated in Port Harcourt”.

He, however, acknowledged and commended the Governor for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to quality service delivery in Rivers State.

“Governor Siminalayi Fubara has proven to be a God-sent leader, whose humility, focus, and dedication, to peace have restored hope among citizens. His transformative initiatives in infrastructure, social welfare, and good governance reforms are widely recognized and appreciated”.

Hon Obijuru Saturday Uwa, also a one–time councillor ship candidate under the platform of the Young People’s Party(YPP), in the 2021 Local Government elections in Oyigbo LGA, added that the ADC remains committed to supporting every efforts that promotes inclusive growth and strengthens the unity of Rivers State and Nigeria generally.
