Bonny LG Chairman Seeks Urgent Fix to Network Failures

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Rivers State. Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, on Monday, December 1, 2025, held a crucial meeting with major telecommunications operators to address what he described as persistent and unacceptable network disruptions affecting residents and businesses across the LGA.

‎Chairman Pepple expressed deep concern over the worsening connectivity issues, particularly along the Bonny-Bodo Road and in several riverine communities.

‎He noted that stable communication is essential for safety, transportation, and commercial activities, adding that frequent complaints about unreliable service could no longer be overlooked.

‎According to him, the network challenges pose risks to travellers and hinder ongoing development efforts in the area.

‎He called on the telecom firms to respond swiftly and ensure that their services meet the needs of the growing population.

‎Representatives of the service providers acknowledged the concerns raised.
