FG Orders Immediate Closure of 41 Unity Colleges Over Security Threats

The Federal Government (FG) has mandated the immediate closure of 41 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) nationwide, citing rising security concerns across various parts of the country.

The directive was conveyed through a circular issued by the Federal Ministry of Education on Friday, November 21, 2025. The Minister of Education approved the measure as a necessary step to “prevent any security breaches” in the schools.

The circular, signed by Hajia Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education, instructed Principals of the affected FUCs to ensure strict compliance with the immediate closure order.
