Flamingos Faces Italy Today in a Knockout Battle

Nigeria’s Flamingos are set to compete against Italy in a highly anticipated Round of 16 match during the ongoing FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

‎The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 28th October 2025, at Pitch 2 of the Football Academy Mohamed VI in Rabat, with a quarter-final berth on the line.

‎This will mark the first encounter between the two nations at this stage of the tournament. Italy has achieved three consecutive victories, including an exhilarating 4-3 win over Brazil, a 3-1 triumph against the host nation Morocco, and a commanding 3-0 win over Costa Rica, thus leading Group A with a perfect score and arriving in Rabat in excellent form.

‎Conversely, Nigeria secured its place as one of the best third-place teams after a challenging start to the tournament, suffering a 4-1 defeat to Canada and a narrow 1-0 loss to France. However, they bounced back impressively with a decisive 4- 0 victory over Samoa, ensuring their advancement to the Round of 16.

‎The Flamingos are eager to build on this success and vie for a quarter-final spot with renewed confidence and energy.

‎Meanwhile, the Italians, who remain unbeaten, are led by Giulia Galli, the tournament’s top scorer with five goals, and will approach the match with high confidence as they aim to continue their winning streak.

‎The clash on Tuesday night, commencing at 8pm, is expected to be thrilling as both teams compete for a place in the World Cup’s Round of 8.
